Woman’s Body found after Woodstock House Fire

The body of a woman in her 70s has been found following a search at a house that was partially destroyed by fire in Oxfordshire.

The blaze at a property on Green Lane, in Woodstock, started at about 1.17am on Saturday.

Four fire engines and around 20 fire-fighters attended the blaze.

They carried out a search of the debris as it was thought a was inside at the time of the fire, however fire-fighters were unable to search the whole building before part of it collapsed.

Police officers were also called to the blaze, but it is not thought to have been started in suspicious circumstances.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman said the woman’s next of kin had been informed.
