25.6.2016 Bungalow between Spring Crescent and Lawn Road in Portswood destroyed in "severe" late night blaze
An investigation has been launched into the cause of a fire that destroyed a derelict bungalow in Southampton.
Crews from St Mary's, Hightown, Eastleigh and Redbridge were called to a “severe” fire in a property between Spring Crescent and Lawn Road in Portswood on Saturday 25th June 2016.
Around 30 fire fighters tackled the blaze, which destroyed the roof of the building and caused significant damage to the rest of the property.
Fire crews set up a cordon while they worked and groups of neighbours gathered in the street.
A Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “No-one was in the property at the time and no one was injured in the fire. The cause is now under investigation.”
